One idea, held to strictly#

Most messengers grow by adding kinds of things: a chat, a channel, a supergroup, a secret chat, each with its own rules and its own defects. EMAPKA has one kind of thing — the group — and everything you see is that same thing arranged differently.

A conversation between two people is a group of two. A Channel +1 is a group of two created from inside another group. A private notebook is a group where you never invited anybody. One mechanism, one lifecycle, one way of deleting. Fewer kinds of things means fewer places for a mistake to hide.

Circles that do not know about each other#

Every group is a closed circuit with its own state, its own participants, its own keys, its own invitations and its own ending. No group inherits anything from another. There is no global list of your contacts, no single profile, no shared history — because there is nothing global to attach them to.

You are one person in one group and a different one in the next, and nothing connects the two. Deleting a group destroys that circle and touches nothing else. What was inside it does not come back.

Who it is for#

For a family that wants a room of its own. For a working team that does not want its correspondence in somebody's cloud. For one person who wants a notebook nobody else can open. EMAPKA is free, carries no advertising, and asks for no account.

Where it is made#

Development, hosting and distribution are inside the European Union. The application speaks Belarusian, English, Spanish, Japanese, Polish and Russian.

What stage it is at#

Beta. The desktop version — Windows, macOS, Linux — comes first; the phone versions follow. What is not finished is named on the home page and on the Transparency page rather than hidden.
